Terms of using tego

What tego is

A place for a circle of people to gather around someone going through a hard season: to send them words, to organise practical help, and eventually to give. It is not a medical service, it is not a substitute for care from real people, and nothing in it is medical, legal or financial advice. In an emergency, tego is not the place to turn.

Your account

An account belongs to one person. Keep your access to your email and your password to yourself, because either of them is a way into your circles.

You can delete your account at any time from your account page, without asking anyone and without giving a reason. Privacy spells out exactly what is removed and what stays behind, and you see the same before you confirm.

What you write stays yours

Your words, your recordings and your photos are yours. tego does not claim ownership of them. What you give tego is permission to store them and to show them to the people your circle’s own rules allow, which is the entire job of the product.

That permission is not used for anything else. Your content is not sold, not shared for advertising, and not used to build a profile of you.

What tego asks of you

These circles hold people at their most exposed, so the rules are the obvious ones and they are meant seriously. Do not use tego to harass, threaten or deceive anyone. Do not post content you do not have the right to share, including someone else’s private information or someone else’s medical details. Do not break the law with it.

A coordinator can remove any member from their circle, and take down content in it. That is how a circle protects the person at its centre without needing anyone’s permission first.

Money

Nothing is charged today. Giving is designed and written but it is not switched on, so no payment runs through tego and nothing here will take your card. There is no subscription and no paid tier.

When giving does open, the commitment already made is that there is no mandatory platform fee taken out of a gift, and that any tip is optional, never pre-selected, and always one tap to zero. Anything else about payments will be written here before it is switched on, not after.

When tego helps you write

You can ask tego to help draft a prayer or a meditation from your own directions. What comes back is a draft. You read it, you can change it, and nothing is voiced or sent until you say so. The words you send are yours and you are responsible for them.

tego is early

Things will change, some things are not built yet, and some things will break. Where a feature is not ready, tego says so in the product rather than implying otherwise, and Help is kept honest about the gaps.
