About
You’re covered.
tego is one warm place for the people who love someone going through a hard season. It exists because the care is almost always already there. It is just scattered.
The problem is not that nobody wants to help
When someone gets bad news, the people around them want to do something. So the offers arrive: a text thread, a spreadsheet, a sign-up sheet, three separate group chats, a fundraiser somewhere else, a dozen versions of “let me know if you need anything.”
Every piece of that is love. Together it becomes a job. And the job lands on the person with the least room to carry it, or on the one family member holding everything else at the same time.
What tego is
A circle: one place where the people who love someone gather to encourage them, show up for them, and carry a little of the weight. A voice message set to music. A calendar of what is actually needed this week, claimed by name. A way to give without anyone having to ask twice. The people, the words, and the practical help in the same place instead of six.
The person at the center never has to run it. Receiving is the default posture. Nothing in tego turns their circle into a list of things they owe someone a reply about.
The name
tego is Latin. It means I cover, I protect. That is the whole promise, and it is meant in both senses: you are covered the way a roof covers you, and covered the way a friend covers your shift.
What tego will not do
- No pressure in giving. No fake urgency, no countdowns, nothing pre-checked. The tip is always one tap to zero, and there is no mandatory platform fee taken out of a gift. The family keeps every dollar.
- No guessing about faith. The neutral voice is the default and assumes nothing. A circle that wants prayer as its tone chooses it, and then tego speaks that way for that circle only.
- No pressure to keep up. No streaks, no unread counts sitting on someone mid-treatment like a debt, no “we miss you.” A person in a hard season does not need an app with expectations.
- No quiet leaks. Who sees what is decided per person, per circle, and it is enforced underneath every screen rather than remembered by one. Privacy says exactly how.
Where tego is today
tego is early, and it is better to say so here than to let you find out later. Circles, invitations, messages, the care calendar, the voice and music studio and the notification inbox are built and in use. Giving is designed and written but not switched on: no payments run through tego yet, and nothing on the site will take your card.
Help answers the questions people actually arrive with, and Contact is honest about how to reach a person right now.
